Lighthouse Baptist Fellowship was founded in the spring of 1997. Founding mission pastor Gerald Clevenger had pastored seven years in Galion , Ohio before the Lord led him to start a new work in Seville . Following much preparation and getting the support needed from the Southern Baptist State Convention and sister churches, Lighthouse began to assemble together for worship on June 1, 1997. Fourteen people attended that first worship service and has experienced a steady increase of new members over the first eleven years of existence.

The Lighthouse worship services offer a mix between traditional and contemporary style of worship with Biblical preaching that is aimed at being practical and relevant for the day in which we live in.

As a Lighthouse gives light to the sailors and ships out at sea to guide them away from treacherous waters, Lighthouse Baptist Fellowship is also committed to “Giving Light to Peoples Lives” through the sharing and ministering of the Gospel of Jesus Christ who is the only One who has the answers for the world today.

If you are looking for a Bible believing, friendly, loving and spirit filled church, We invite you to join us for worship and experience the difference!

A Friendly and Loving Church

We believe you will be pleased with the sincere interest we take in you. The warmth and friendliness you will experience will be like a breath of fresh air.

A Mission Minded Church

We believe the church is an extension of our Lord's earthly ministry and we are to "Go into all the World and make disciples." We give regularly to local and foreign missions through Southern Baptist Churches cooperating together to support over 4,000 missionaries in 131 countries. We support ARK Ministries that was founded by Deacon Tim Lawrence in 2007. ARK Ministries has taken five teams to New Orleans to help rebuild the lives of Hurricane Katrina victims who lost their homes.

We also support Don Wolff who serves as a Truck Stop Chaplain reaching truckers for Jesus. Medina Light Jail Ministry and the Margaret House (A rehabilitation place for women to get a fresh start) also receives support from Lighthouse.

We are excited that God is using Lighthouse to be a bright light shining in dark places reaching people all over the world for Jesus.

A Caring Church

"Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ" Gal 6:2. We are committed to help and take care of those within and without our fellowship who legitimately needs help. We believe no one should bear their burdens alone.

A Bible Believing Church

We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for it's author, salvation for it's end, and truth, without any mixture of error for it's matter.

There is one and only one living and true God who is manifested in three personalities of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God who is the perfect revelation of the Father. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. Jesus completely identified Himself with mankind yet without sin. He died in our place for our sins, was buried and resurrected, ascending back to the Father and will be coming again for all those who have placed their faith and trust in Him.

We believe man was created by the special act of God, in His own image, and is the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his creator with the freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race.

Very Supportive of our Young People

We have sponsored free youth pizza nights and recreation at Seville Elementary School during winter months and sponsored girls softball teams and boys baseball teams during summer months. We believe in molding our young people for the future. In the summer of 2008 many of our young people played on our first ever softball team competing against other churches.
